Milk everytime and even stir the coffee and milk together before putting water in. :d
let the water cool a little then pour it in.
if you put milk in first, you get loads of undissolved bits in it

if you put milk in first, you get loads of undissolved bits in ithence the shiny thing called a spoon to stir it

milk first in coffee
water first in tea
Dunno about in coffee, but in tea I usually put the milk in second. I remember someone once telling me which way round it should be so as to avoid scalding the milk, only problem is I can't remember which way they said it should be lol
I'm sure one of the things they said was "touch it with tea" - i.e. don't pour water onto the milk, so if brewing in the cup put the milk in second once the tea has brewed; if pouring from a kettle, put the milk in first (as its already brewed, so you'd be "touching it with tea" rather than hot water).
Anyways, I find its easier to get the desired strength of tea (or coffee) if you put the milk in second.
the whole milk in first thing in tea dates from before the pasteurisation thing. that way, the bugs were killed before you drank it.. tea as the nations drink came about because of the industrial revolution & the fact that the water was not clean, factory bosses had to give their workers a drink break & their water was pretty rank so they boiled it & flavoured it with tea. then it was too hot to drink quick, so they stuck milk in, also to hide the state of the water...

ive just mashed actually lol if you were here you could have one (after you'd washed my car lol)
no milk. cow liquid is only for cereal....
oooo seems like some proper coffee drinkers have voted whilst ive been asleep :). milk first FTW
i don't think there is a right or a wrong way....
water first makes the coffee taste stronger & more bitter, which is how i have mine, milk first makes it smoother tasting....

I voted water, as for those you have black coffee they will be putting water in first. Bu I put water in first even with milky coffee. I allow the water to slightly cool off from boiling. Same goes with tea. Just go starbucks and watch them see how they do it.

Water first is :gay:
I use a caftiere with freshly ground beans, so water first is the only option.

People who say milk goes first to avoid 'sclading' the coffee are doing it wrong, coffee should be made with water just off the boil i.e. you dont let the water boil, and tea should be made with boiling hot water as soon as its boiled:thumb:
im sure i read somewhere the optimum brewin temp for tea is 93 degrees
^ Depends what type of tea you're brewing. For most of the "sweepings-off-the-floor" teas - i.e. PG, Typhoo, Twinings everyday/breakfast, other such shoite you get in bags off the supermarket shelf etc etc - you can use boiling water, but as I said before let it cool a bit before you add the milk. The time it takes to steep should be long enough

You shouldnt let it boil. When it boils you lose oxygen out of the water which helps with the brew :d

Milk everytime and even stir the coffee and milk together before putting water in. :d

What the hell does drug abuse have to do with the pouring technique?

is it strange im no longer lookng forward to the best cup of tea competition at the national meet?
Milk, it stops the coffee being scaled. As scaling the beam/powerd loses taste from it.
Making Tea and Coffee is an art.
I make the worst tea in the world apparently, although my coffee skills must be a good bit better.

i once worked with the worst coffee maker ever
he used to put a spoon of coffee in the mug & then fill it from the teapot.... when interrogated, he claimed that was how his mum made it!!!!!
