Hi
i'm from Portugal
and i'm fitting a C20LET with F28 in a corsa
as far as i know i'm the first in my country

so that originates the question:
How is it to drive a 2.0 16V Turbo in a Nova?

Please describe it, Thanks.

FAST i would imagine! Probably hard to put the power down without it spinning.

Well i was wheelspinning in the wet at 2000 rpm in 1st gear :o

its NUTs

will wheelspin in 3rd in the dry,4th if you are (un)lucky

Not much will beat you on the road- bit hard to launch the thing from the line but once its going...woooooooooooooooooooooooooo

torque steer is fun....... :?

They are excelent fun, like freak says not a lot will stay with one once its rolling as thats half the challange. Be prepaired to spend lots on tyres as you will go through them very fast.

From the brief 5 minute drive I had in one, it was a brilliant experience and a little hairy aswell!!!

the difference between the standard non turbo 16v and the turbo is massive.

After the drive I couldn't stop smiling for about 3 weeks!!! :D

lol instead of doing yours, buy the one i have instead already done :P

Its a bit impractical for everyday use but it is very good fun to drive. A lot better than the c20Xe conversion.

Breeny,

Why is it impractical for evey day use? I'm on the look out for a LET lump (not had much luck yet) and it will be going in the car I have to use every day for work?

just fit a hi/lo boost switch and it's nice and drivable for day to day use

vauxhall didnt do one but quaife sell an lsd for the f20 and f28 for about ?500. i'm sure it would make quite a big improvement but its still going to be a problem trying to get the thing to grip.
my 1400 spins up in 2nd in dry and 3rd in wet and thats with 17s so a 200+ bhp turbo is going to be a nightmare no matter what u do!

yup,
ATB from Quaife
is on the shop list but not for now
i'm running low on "dead presidents"

or...
you can upgrade it with Phase3 tuning stage
that as a swich to set from position 1 (170hp 230Nm) to position 12 (315hp 477Nm)
that's on my shop list to, after the ATB!!!

170 to 315 is quite a big difference in power! And lots of it!! Is that from just changing the boost of the turbo??

Turbo and fuel pressure!
the position 12 uses
4.5br fuel pressure
and 1.15br continues turbo load pressure
(1.5br overboost)

The main problem as I see it is the weight effects on the handling.
Its a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
If you are wanting a fast car around a track I dont think this would be the way to go really. If you want a bit of point and squirt fun then it would certainly fit the ticket. Thats kind of power requires 4WD really.

You are right, but then
you also got kitcars with that power
and they rule the tracks!

ok, ok, not like the 4WD WRCs but they rock!
