View Full Version : Speedo Query - KPH to MPH
A friend of mine has just bought an Opel Corsa B GSi thats been imported to the UK from Germany, so speedo is in KPH.
Is this be a simple case of getting some UK clocks & speedo drive thingy from the gearbox an simply swapping them over? Or is there more to it then that?
it should be fine to do that, but
do a test drive to see just what speed it is at, say 3000rpm in top...
then slap a set of GB clocks in and do the same test, just to be sure.
Thats what i was thinking Mow, im quite unsure wether the RPM would actually work properly or not?

the rev counter will work still
Thats easier than the Jap crap stuff i have to do, Re wire a MPH/KPH converter into the speedo sensor at the gearbox end.

swapping the clocks should be fine. If you look at the mph clocks they have the kph next to the mph numbers. The kph numbers just repalce the mph ones. You can tast it like Mowgli said.
Just fit some uk clocks and take a road angel or sat nav to confirm the speed
