View Full Version : V6 engine differences
Ok, you have the 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and 3.2.
Are the engine blocks different as I've been told yes and no? Also, I know the 2.6 and 3.2 are fly by wire, can they be converted to cable?

2.6 and 3.2 are fly by wire but you can used the inlet and auxileries eiring ecu etc off either a 2.5 or 3.0 so can be converted
there are a few vectra bs running 3.2s and you just use everything off the 2.5 even the ecu
Would the fact the 3.2 is running a 2.5 management not decrease the power?

you can even use the c25xe inlets on a 3.2 and to be fair i find it the best system to use, the vectra b type is utter sh!te imo

not normaly but you may need to get the 2.5 management maped or chiped but the ecu will usualy cope with the change
Nice. So any engine with the 2.5 Inlets is the best option. I like that. :D Cheers folks.

Whats that got to do with me?
2.5 ecu will runit just fine, as motronic "learns" the engines paramaters.
try the vvoc mate
Well the engine has arrived and the fun is about to start.
Will the 2.5 ECU fit the 2.6 Wiring loom or do I need the 2.5 loom as well?

you need everything from a c25xe mate, the inlets, the loom and ecu etc, the sensors have different ends too
David
Ooh, **** that. Seems a 2.5 would have been handier all round. I might just try and work with what I have. An AFM and thats it complete.

those 2.6's have a ecu attached to the engine mind mate..... you going to give yourself some chew there!
David
RRVeight on here does all my wiring and he's top notch so I'll leave it in his hands, and as the car is complete and running its all a good start.
