not sure if it will work, but i think the diff may not be connected and theres a chain driven sprocket inside the diff instead of the diff
Saves making a chain guard
Seen quite a few trike's done like that, never thought about the oil.

thats what i thought drift bike r us;)
wouldn't you just weld it all upright so you've only got one wheel to provide a turning force so your gonna make it worse by welding the diff up aswell

Tons of trikes run fixed rear axel with no problems.
Morris marina axel is favoured so I'm told.
Dads mate has afew trikes and bikes, builds rover v ones lol

The diff won't actually be doing anything, the drive would be coming from a sprocket attached to an output shaft, if the diff was going to be used, the other wheel would turn the wrong way

WRONG
what they do is fit a shaft drive to a reliant back axle or similar,
or they get a chain drive diff.. which can be bought
the marina axle is way too wide

so the original diff either won't be there or will be converted?
it was still in there cos that was what the cog was fixed to
:( so much FAIL in this thread
