I remember seeing something on this a whilst back but at the time it didn't interest me, now I would like to the hatch tailgate lock and unlock on the central locking, Iirc it was bits from a cav that were used, any info/gen/pictures would be great and what type of cav to look out for in the scrappies

Thanks Graeme

I'll either be replacing the driver door 'switch' with a five wire actuator or adding a two wire actuator along side the factory unit and then using a cheap alarm to lock/unlock the car, I shall hopefully be hopefully be sourcing some blanks for the locks like the ones fitted to Craig Green's gsi, I also plan on removing the lock from the push button on the boot but retaining the push button as I think its easier than a remote 'popper'

I'd guess so, but my saloon has boot central locking so that may work..

Just found the for sale ad where I remember seeing it, I presume this is all you need

I have available a FULL kit to add Central Locking to your boot (If you already have it in your doors)

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i124/Keif_1974/For%20Sale/DSC01757.jpg

This comes complete (see pic) with .

Central locking motor.
Central Locking motor fixing screws
Barrel bracket (Still fitted to a spare lock - easier for you to see how to swap it over onto your current key barrel)
Connecting rod from motor to barrel bracket
Clip to secure your existing rod onto the boot lock.
Wiring Loom (enough to get wire into the roof of your Nova)

Once one of us has one this would it not be worth making an article out of it for future refrence?

I hardly think I'm treading new ground, lol, I've always used a smooth grab handle in the past, but found it more hastle than its worth, I hope once the central locking is working, I can smooth over the key hole in the button to stop the local scum screwdrivering the lock

Hmm is this to lock/unlock the boot or pop it open? it's not totally clear to me from that pic tbh.

I had boot popper on my alarm fob on the old nova, just use the extra output on the alarm and, well i used a relay too but I think it works directly if you wanted tbh... just easier to run a single live and earth in boot than run a live from power to boot and earth from popper to alarm (the alarm pulls to ground to activate)

This is to lock/unlock rather than release

when are you planning on fitting your kit dude? my bootlock is worn so ive gotta fight with the f00ker to unlock it,so i want myn c/l activated. damn you vauxhall, sorting out the doors but leaving the boot.... on novas anyway :(

It'll probably be a week on Sunday but from what I've been told you have to run two cables to the c/l module in the passenger footwell and then add the bits from the Cav lock to the nova one, but you have to leave the lock in the unlocked (horizontal position) position, making it look unlocked to the trained eye.

Bet you can hack up the nova lock so it's unlocked in vertical too, probably just an arm on a barrel, that way you can make it look locked so no one tries it on and wins if you forget to lock it or tries to force it etc

Probably mate, I'm just going to smooth the lock off so its just the button in the handle
