View Full Version : Temperature Guage not working?
What's the most likely reason the temperature guage isn't working on a 1.2i Nova?
Haven't really looked at it yet, but the hand doesn't move at all!
I'm thinking thermostat?
Cheers
Adrian
Have you check the blue wire in the left hand side of the inlet manifold?

Have you had the speedo clocks out at all? They can break the copper on the back so you may have a broken track.
Haven't checked anything yet, just need to know the most obvious things to look for first!
Never had the clocks out, so can't see it being them.

if you earth the blue wire at the temperature sensor this will test the guage and will make it read max if all is good :thumb:
Sensors go wrong a lot.
Would the sensor be the same on a 1.4 carb SR?

i've broken them when taking them out before
Well it's not the sensor swapped it with the SR that was working OK, and still no joy.

Maybe the blue wire that runs to the dash has snapped or become unclipped on the back of the dash clocks, or the gauge has gone faulty so try earthing the blue wire. Still could have burnt a copper track out on the clocks though.
