Bike bodies on XE and standerd ECU

As above my friend has asked me to check if the above is possable? I dont think it is, or it might not runn as well. What it is is hes got a mk1 escort with xe in but wants to inprove the inlet, hes thought of making a inlet with bike bodies atached and a air box, then have a place to atache the air flow meter. But what will make it not work? Any help will be greatfull.

its very dificult to custom map the standard system and wont give much gaines use aftermarker management if you do it its easier and will give better results

I told him that but he still thinks it will work. Is it because you are increasing the volume of air into the engine and you need something to controle it and the standerd xe ecu isnt capable of doing it? Would having a chiped ecu help?

the bodies will increase the amount of air being taken in to get it to run right you will need to increase the fueling to match and the standard ecu cant cope with that chiped ecu would still be no good with throttle bodies the difference between a good set up and a bad one is all down to the mapping and to do it right to get decent results the only way is a mapable ecu
