Can anyone tell me what this is and how to remove it, because when I was putting a nut onto it, the thread sheared off, now I have to take it off and try to repair it :(

Cheers

No its not hard to remove mate think its a 22mm nut that holds it.

There expensive new though bout £80 ish id just replace it with a normal one if your not bothered bout the gauge on the dash working.

Should unscrew fairly easily. You might be able to get a thin spanner on to the top of the thread, there are flats IIRC.

For replacement you can get the sensor off pretty much any vauxhall that has the two pin jobby. Mine is off a straight 6 carlton, the threads seem to be the same regardless of engine.

They were only £26 a few years ago, dealer only though I think.

I paid a quid for mine from the scrappy though :)
