Just a big thanks to this guy Bought a Gearbox 16v rear calipers and 280 front discs from him yesterday. 6hr round trip lol didn't get to his until after 10pm so cheers mate for hanging about and sorry about my retarded friends lol

Nova will be back tomorrow morning & my mate just bought a Type R Civic so no dought I will need another box from you lol

Who do you think will win in a drag race? My V6 Nova on 3.0 cams and a re-mapped ecu or his standard 54 plate type r?

On paper, the CTR (breadvan shape) is 6.7s 0-60mph and 16.2s 0-100mph. IF you can keep traction off the line, you should be faster.

My V6 is very fast too 100, but its getting the power through the wheels thats the problem. Would be interesting to see how quick it would get to 60 mind, but it feels faster than the GT4 (which hits 60 in 6).

Any cornering is going to favour the TypeR. Interesting debate though, just adding to the argument about sorting the chassis of the Nova. Polybushes, plated TCA's & body shell etc etc. ATB diff?

Considering my 1.6 was 0-60 in around 7-7.5 (not scientific, 1 mississippi etc and to 69 on the clocks lol) it should be quicker than 6 i'd imagine

Most drag races involve a dual carriageway & the next roundabout....

When the civic loses he'll just make the Nova wish it could corner on the way back.

As said if you can keep the power down you'll easy beat him, make sure its a nice dry day.

LOL!

If you do a qtr mile drag (e.g. Santa Pod), do they give you split times saying how quickly and at what speed you were doing at certain points?

Pretty sure it's just reaction/terminal.

No, you get 60ft & 100ft times & 1/8th mile iirc + reaction time.

It also depends on my car holding together lol. My car is well set up full Gaz coilovers, polybushed, V6 brakes etc. I do like the Civics don't get me wrong but he has a MG ZS atm and out of us three mates his used to be the fastest because I had a old 205 XS at the time. He's in the army so he is only back every couple of months and I didn't tell him it was a V6. So down the motorway as usual with him up my **** I floored it and handed him one. Next day he has just bought a £8000 Type R and paid cash . If I had 8k I would buy something well more interesting! I really want to beat him again lol. I don't dive like a dick but there has always been compatition between us. Cars, Money, Women etc

Get a good LSD! my mates let runs a F20 with a quaiffe ATB diff, you might break the box again but you should be able to reuse the diff :)

Yeah, with a diff you can use the power to pull you round corners, works very well and means you regain alot of good handleing.

Does that mean that the diff in the current fooked box might be ok?

it could be fine it depends on what broke, id keep it for spares anyway, ie gear cluster, if you shred a tooth on reverse gear it means you have a spare cog rather than buying another box, get your old box stripped and get someone to check the diff, or ask mowgli how to check a diff, he seems to know alot of good stuff.:thumb:
