My mates got some 18'' vxr rims on his mk4 astra not lowerd and its scrubbin on the arches  now he,s told me its runnin 225/40 tyres which i think could be the route of the problem and have advised him to change to 215/35 tyres do you think this should help and i,m unsure of the offset on these wheels :thumb:

offset looks way off rob! Don't even think a tyre change would cure it tbh.

cheers John and thats what i was thinking as i,m unsure what offset the the vxr rims are,he originally asked me to get a price for the arches to be rolled but theres hardly anything to roll on a mk4 astra lol

edit: unsure of the model

iirc dont the vxrs and newer vauxhalls run a lower et like the omegas did ?

Remember the profile is a percentage of the width, so a 215/35 tyre will have a much smaller sidewall than a 225/40

But yeah, the offset on that looks quite low.

Had a quick look on google, I think they're low 40s, possibly around 43...
