Right, I've been thinking about this for a while and since the info online is somewhat shoddy I want to try and compile a nice list/database of info to then stick on a page for all to have a lookse.

So I'd like (please)something like this:
Brand Model Width Profile Diameter Load Speed UTQG(Wear Rating) Temperature
Kumho KU31 205 50 16 87 W 320 A

I'll whore this about on many forums to try and get a nice compendium of tyre info :)

damn the crappy formatting lol

I cant see the point in this, tyres vary so much, even down to what side of the world they are made in & are often suited to lightweight or heavier vehicles. They also become obselete pretty quickly.

Stu, you need to use the Code tag:

Brand Model Width Profile Diameter Load Speed UTQG
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Firestone Firehawk TZ200 195 60 15 88 V
Falken FK-452 225 40 18 92 Y 300 AA A

One tyre can respond differently on various cars though. I know you like Kumhos on your VX, but the ones I had on my GT4 were about as grippy as a greased ferret in a well lubed anal cavity

^ will add to Jacks point.

The tyres i had in my red semi stripped SR where Falcon something or others, excellent levels of wear & grip.

Same tyres, on the same rims, on a fully stripped SR'd shell were utter lethal though. No rear end grip at all in the wet, barely any front.

Jack you missed the VITAL bit of info.. the UTQG rating. The rest is mostly irrelevant lol

iirc Toyo dont list the UTQG rating.

Its odd as KU31's work great on the Astra, a mate has them on his A4 quattro that he never drives gently and the lotus guys have them on their 'normal' cars too. are you SURE you had KU31's ? lol

Its not about what tyre for what use, its just about tyres..... as you can then gauge them from the UTQG ;)

What's wrong with T1-R's? I've got them on the front of mine and the grip is awesome even in the crap weather we had.

They tried to kill me on a roundabout in slightly moist conditions as 50 profiles, when recycled condom grade budget directionals had more grip as 45's. The REAL budget condom grade tyres I had on the front let go, i was pretty prepared for that knowing how bad they are, but I was not expecting the T1-R's to follow being on the back, with more tread, and supposedly a 'performance tyre' needless to say I wouldn't let someone I know drive on them without warning them first, let alone use them myself.

Compiling data is all about sifting through the **** though lol

yes but opinions and discussions about tyres are about as useful as Lee in a hetro brothel.

actual facts from the tyres themselves are WIN ;)

Mine are 195/50/15 and in my opinion are great, but as I say they're just on the front.

I know, I couldn't find it at the time of making that post so I'm going back to edit it when I do (which I now have lol)

As for the Kumho debate, you may be right as I don't think mine were KU31s. Supposedly rated well though, might have to go lookup what their stats are.
