if it was always garaged, why has the sun faded the dealer sticker so much??

and it would have averaged 223 miles per year!!!!!!!!

my guess is 101300 miles

i would want to see the service history.

vaughanmc
08-03-10, 08:00 PM
Definately one to investigate :) That's why I said in the thread title 'Supposed...'

kent14sr
08-03-10, 08:03 PM
Prob low mileage of 30/40/50k and then had speedo head replaced at some point

With 1300 miles it should be almost showroom condition if its been garaged all its life surely

I was once told its better for a car to be outside than a damp garage as outside least it dries out in the sun - so you could be right

Let us know when he gives you a price!

I wouldn't be fussed on if the mileage was genuine if it was clean and sensibly priced.

Original tyres?! Why do people say this, it's not a good thing on a car this old.

And Vaughn you upset me for being pedantic.

When I got mine 2 years ago with 18k on the clock i knew it was genuine miles, you get a feel for it, plus having a 1 eldery owner from new helps lol. All i can say is if its mint and the price is right grab it as novas will only go up in value in a years to come.

In the instance of an ebay link i can understand it as more intrest will up the price, on PH first come first served not like you sit there watching it for a week first.

It looks clean enough for 1300 miles or 1k.

The faded sticker could just be crap & fade prone anyway, or the car is parked in a garage with a window???

I actually like the look of it a lot, but I have always thought that such a car of that sort of average mileage would need a strip down of things like wheel bearings & CV's etc & replace the grease, likewise you'd be pretty naive to think the tyres will be capable of any real traction. But it is something to brag about its originality that it has the 4 original tyres etc.

Nice car for someone in the right hands.

I'm dubious about that, my Nova says 01500 (obviously its 101500 and it looks every mile of that) wouldn't take too long to spruce it up and make it look like it had done 1500 miles.

You'll never make a 100k car look like a genuine 1k mile car no matter what you do.

There is no way I could clean up any of my other Novas to the standard of the 7k Flair I have.

Decs Sport is a good example, it's a very very clean car, but just doesn't look "original", it still has a restored look about it. (I'm not taking anything away from the car by the way, I'd love it!!)

Worth every penny and more.

Either throw around £500-1000 at it re-commissioning it, and you basically have a brand new Nova on the road. Can you get a new car for under £3k? No.

Or tuck it away as a collectors item: it certainly won't go down in value.

Or would make a cracking base for a non sunroof rally or show car. Think along the lines of how much a brand new shell would cost?

Once Novas go historic rallying (in a couple of years), prices for shells and works bits are gonna skyrocket. You heard it here first ;). So get it bought while it's cheap.

It will sell.

Edd

I think it's worth that if it's hasn't rotted away in a damp garage.

It will sell for that, surprised it's not gone already tbh, I also think he could of asked more for it than £2k.

exhaust tailpipe looks fresh the steering wheel looks shiny/worn, wouldnt fork out the 2k myself though

Here here...

You can re create originality, you can only buy it. If the mileage is correct worth in the region of that figure IMO...
