right i have about 1-2k to spend on a car and since im turning 18 next week i can get sensible insurance now :)

quite fancy something old been looking at 2,8i capris really like them would love a manta gte loon but out of my price range :(
anybody got ideas

Get a diesel so you're not spending sh1t loads on fuel which then frees up more money for the nova.

capris are bigger rotboxes than novas, they could lose the 4rse end when parked up, and you would not afford 15mpg, oh, and they don't like unleaded

manta is way better, but the ascona & mk1 cav are the same underneath, but cheaper

my mate is 6'4" and he has driven one comfortably

nope. the ascona & mk1 cavalier were the same shell, different nose.. the manta b was actually derived from the mk1 cavalier coupe & sportshatch.

the chevette & kadett were the same shell

As said, MPG on stuff like that is sh!t. Plus that particular car isn't even powerful for the engine size. Insurance will rape you IMO.

Also what's with you always putting the £ sign after a numerical figure?

i have to admit that jack is onto something there.. with a decent v6 fitted, a dolly would be ace, but they rot faster than nearly everything else.
