driving my xe today and all was going well until 15 minutes into driving it started to misfire. so got it back to my garage took out the spark plugs and they where fine so i cleaned them anyway. left it to cool down and started to drive it again and the same thing after about 15 minutes it started to misfire again im baffled.
iv changed recently
cambelt and pullies
water pump
crank shaft sensor
dizzy
dizzy cap
rotory arm
spark plugs
ht leads
fuel filter
all parts are gm and brand new can i have some suggestion please sorry about the essay lol
coil? fuel pump? getting to hot and breaking down?

Change the fuel pump relay had a similar issue on a manta gte and it turned out that was overheating, worth a try.

it also had a new gm fuel pump relay. Right had it tickin over for 30 mins as soon as we pressed the throttle it started searching

Sorry forgot to text you back mate today been busy. Have you got another coil to try? could be breaking down when hot. Otherwise possibly the coolant temp sensor as said above. Is it hard to start from hot/cold?
If your stuck can come try my coil to rule it out. Im off work monday/tuesday can meet you at my unit.

i have another coil but its off a 1.6 astra will that work?? iv also bought a new cts sensor today but im working tonight so wont be able to try till tomorrow
doubt a 1.6 coil will work,
is the cooling system airlocked??

right changed my cts sensor and tried a new coil from my mates old calibra and still no joy could it be the afm or lamba sensor im running out of ideas now lol compression is good any other ideas would be much appriciated

Is the ECU light rigged up if not rig it up it may be displaying a fault that you can flash off?
seriously, have you checked the cooling system? an engine usually takes about 15mins to overheat & misfire badly. but after a cool down, it suddenly runs fine again

cooling systems fine checked that pumping round fine stat opening/closes fine temp stays at 3 bars on the digi dash. i cant fine the ECU light dont think it has one (early calibra 1990)
