Was rudely awoken from a nice stella fuelled sleep at half past eight this morning by my mate ringing me (as id told him to do last night, damn drunkenness lol)

Went up to Albrough, home of the famous Zcars for a rolling road day with a few mates and a local car club.

Started off with a tour around the workshops and dribbling at the fabrication skill and sheer genius of these guys, some of the minis look almost factory and to glance at them you wouldnt notice that theyre packing 400bhp turbo civic type-R turbo or hyabussa turbo engines!

Few piccies that i snapped as i got my jap tourist bit on lol

This beasty is 'about' a thousand bhp and is the only 4x4 TVR in the world!!

First run of the day was this 400+bhp mini 'just to show us what a proper car will do'

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36/spudly01/Events%20Piccies/DSC04128.jpg

Then we had a quick tour of the fab shop and were allowed to nosey at some of the other toys/projects they are working on, one of which being a complete kit to slot any engine into any mid sized hatchback, the car and engine there mocking it up into being a seat ibiza cupra with a 3.2 V6 engine!

Werent allowed to take piccies in there i dont think as its all seekrit!

This used to run a 100bhp engine but thats been gotten rid of and is now running a 400bhp hyabussa turbo engine, the guy who was showing us round (the owner iirc) said it will probably not corner at all, and the owner would no doubt smear himself all over the road but thats not their concern lol

And something that got me rather nervous was them strapping my vectra onto the rollers to see what she got............

07-03-10, 11:43 AM
I've got both, and tbh the nova can't touch the mini in terms of handling! don't have to slow down for corners in the mini :D
I like both though, otherwise I wouldn't have them

I always wanted a mini as my first car but they hold value too well so ive never actually had one, if you dont dont see an iconic/classic car in a mini then youre not a true car enthusiast imo:p

awsome mate see the japanees side is back there hyabusa turbo minis kick ass, its whats made me want to bike engine a 126.

not bad results for the old bus just needs some 3.0 cams and she will see 200+

and wudgey for some strange reason i love novas but minis are better how can you say there cack to drive there one of the best handling small cars ever miles better than a nova and with a decent speck a series they can fly, i know a twin a series engined mini that has ran a 9 second standing quarter there awsome little cars

the seating position is fooking horrible they may handle well but i dont get on with the driving position at all that is why i think there cack!! as i stated id rather have a fiat chinquechento than a mini they handle pretty well and there still ugly but not as much as mini's imo!!

and i am a proper car enthusiast just really dont like the looks there awfull!!
