help needed asap

right my dads told me that today his audi has been driving craply, cutting out 5 times, having no power ect, well when he got home i had a quick look and found this, firstly i dont have a clue what engine it is, it says 5v? on the engine cover its a 1.8 whats the 5v mean? 4 cylinders.

it appears to have one cam but i know nothing about these engines, the problem is there loads of oil in the spark plug holes ? i can only access 2 of them easily but its nearly full up, im guessing its the cam cover leaking or something to do with that?

5v= 5 valves per cylinder IIRC. Hmmm, oil would suggest a gasket malfunction somewhere.

Remove the coil pack to access the other 2.

okidoke its dark now :( i thought it was 5valves per cylinder but was unsure i guess 2 inlet and 3 exhaust
