Well i am thinking about polybushing the front anti roll bar, were would be the best place for me to get them from/ order them from, and anyone that has them would you say that they are really worth it or will i just get rubber ones, Thanks in advanced Matt :thumb:

www.rallydesign.co.uk (http://www.rallydesign.co.uk) - got a full set front and rear for my Nova for a very cool £44 inc delivery.

Have a look at my project (in my sig) and you'll see them there :thumb:

IIRC vauxhall charge £18 or so for the fron control arms only. So these poly ones work out much cheaper. Also there are race spec ones that only cost a few quid more.

If your car is lowered? Most of the time the handling would actually benefit from removal of the ARB unless your rear suspension is very stiff.

oh cheers i will go and see if i can find them on the site

yeah it is only lowered 30mm at the mo waiting to get some cesaros then its going to 60mm

Take the arb off before you spend any money, see what its like handling wise first.

Edit: Il explain my reasoning. Because most rear suspension is soft (or no thick strong rear ARB), the rear flops over in a corner, causing the front inside wheel to lift slighty as the front ARB acts on it. Standard suspension its preety much fine, as ofc thats how nova's came in the first place.

My Nova had no ARB from standard. It's also lowered on 30mm H&R springs but I think it sits a bit closer to 40mm. It handles well. Should be even better when the worn bushes get changed.

Yea, only SR's/GTE/GSi's came with front ARB's i believe.

My nova is about -60 at the front, with decent tyres and decent shocks it would handle great, if it was on the road....

He asked about anti-roll-bar bushs, not lower arms :), Saloons come with rear ARB's too.

ARB - Anti Roll Bar. Like AW06 said they came fitted on the sportier models and diesels + Saloons IIRC. There's a big debate with regrads to binning them or keeping them once the Nova has had uprated springs and shocks.

Sorry dude they don't seem to be on there  either got taken off or I miss read it :tard:

Anyway dude, just remove the front ARB and see how she handles in your opinion without it. You may end up liking the handling and therefore save yourself a few bob in the process :)

There's a big debate with regrads to binning them or keeping them once the Nova has had uprated springs and shocks.

Mostly because people put 250-300lb springs on then chuck a metal bar across it hoping it will improve it and are surprised when it makes the front end so hard it understeers lol

The differance between the bushs between GSI/1.2 are the thicker Tie bars, as th bushs dont go around the ARB, insted the tiebar :)

i see, kinda confused me all this, i am no good at taking instructions pictures does it for me lol, even though i did do mechanicing and tech lol, so the gsi has thicker tie bars, correct?

Its only GTE/GSi's that have the thicker (22mm) tie bars IIRC, so SR items should fit?! IMO polybushes are a worth while upgrade. Remember that the bushes on your car could well be the original items!!!! Perished rubber FTL.

N.I_Nova
05-03-10, 06:11 PM
yeah and by the looks of eveything behind the wheel it is all the original stuff minus my new pads and brembo disks, and it needs a new wheel bearing now to

personally i wouldnt polybush anything if you drive on the road dude, mine is and its as uncomfy driving on roads as walking round with a nail in your shoe :( not nice, probably helps on a track, maybe... just fit standard roll bar

N.I_Nova

I like nails in my shoes, very stylish these days :thumb:, bit sore on the feet mind you, but still looks good lol, personally hard as nails on the road is all good might not be the most confortable at tims or at all, but its good and secure on the road, good times :)
