Well i think when spending ?100 for two tyres and them lasting less than 2 months aint on.

They have virtualy scrubbed out, i dont wheelspin, i do on my own admitance corner quitew hard but come on these are supposed to be some of the best tyres on the market. I will be changing back to Good year or Avons again.

Not impressed!

They are probably the best tyre on the market so ive heard... sadly to get more grip you usually have to use a softer compound which will obviously wear quicker...

Other thing to check is that all your camber/caster etc is ok. Negative camber will increase tyre wear a lot.

Ya Ben thats the problem with grippy tyres!!
I had Pirelli P zero's on the 17's on my gte a few years ago. They cost 140 irish pounds (each) at the time and got 5 months out of them :o

I didnt see the real benifits of the softer compound.

I understand aboput the loss/gain of certain aspetcs but i didnt gain any for the loss i got.

If that makes sense!

ya, kno what ya mean, i didn't find the P zero's outstanding either considering the price. i'm sure they are unreal on some other cars

Why dont you just buy some slicks.

Toyos are good tyres. Theres no doubt about that .
Best tyre ive ever bought anyhow.

for wear out in 2 months. you sure you dont wheelspin??
Is the camber still in france or summat?

No i dont wheelspin, i think i did one wich was last week and that was because the tyres were fooked by then.

I guess they just dont suit the way i drive.

Have also heard of other people who wipe them out really quickly. Thought i would try them due to all the rave reviews.

Try Yokohamas. I've got A539's and I'll probably get another set after these wear out.

although these fulda tyres im running at the moment seem sh!t hot - they dont seem to be wearing down either which is a bonus

Well I have low Toyo Proxes on 17"s, and after 4 months my front 2 were illegal, but the back 2 are perfect, nowhere near legal

So I think it's safe to say if u spin the wheels (which i do) then U are gonna pay out for tyres more often... Which is why u kep a set of 14" steelies for those occasions.

Got some firestones today as the guy in the fittersd said that Pirrelli's are softer than the Toyo's, they only had one Avon and he thinks the Firestones will suit my driving.

CAn still corner at about 90mph ok so they will do.

I had 195/45/16 Yoko A539s on my 2.0 GSi and they were awesome in the dry, but not so good in the wet... they lasted about 6 months.... not deliberate burnouts, but just general wheelspin off the mark etc.

I then bought some Toyo proxes T1-s and I found them awesome both wet and dry, and they are still going strong, with my driving becoming more 'enthusiastic' since.

I paid ?69 each for them, but later found that www.mytyres.net do them for ?38 inc vat delivered to the door!! OK so you might have to pay ?5 fitting at your local tyre place but thats cheap.

I've got them and they're very good esp in the wet. If they are wearing as badly as you say without being caned then the chances are that your camber and toe in/out are way out. Get a babies thermometer and test your tyre temperatures across the profile at normal speed straight line driving
