hello...the usual 17 yr old trying to get insurance. :(
currently i have a 1.4 sedan, passed test about month ago, insurance in my name and i pay just over 2 grand...alloys and exhaust.
now im looking at a 1.0 nova spin thats lowered with corsa c alloys, uprated breaks and will have induction kit on it...the cheapest quote i can get is £2300..cheaper on a 1.4 thats worth more.
how can i get a good quote..around £1700

unfortunatly value and age dont make that much difference newer cars are usualy cheaper and easier to get parts for plus there safer so you can find that newer more powerful cars are cheaper to insure than older ones the mods wont help especialy at 17, have you tryed specialist insurers

as many as possible...best quote so far is with direct line, just said its standard..had no bit to say if modified. fully comp for £1500. does direct line do insurance on cars with minimal modification do you know?
Direct Line will cover mods but you may have to ring them.

also...i started an insurance policy in november in my own name and passed my test in feb. does the years no claims bonus start from when i started the insurance policy or when i passed my test?
Depends on the insurance company; some require it to be earnt on a full license, others may let you include provisional NCB. I think my ex was with Admiral and they gave her a years NCB for having a provisional for a year with them.
