www.carcoon.co.uk (http://www.carcoon.co.uk/)

It's a size 3 which is about £380 delivered.

There's a cheaper american brand on ebay which is about £280, but it doesnt have a trickle charger.

Just clean your car, put it in, bring it our months/years later and it'll still be clean.

I older one for the Vitesse, was in constant use for 10 years before I bought the car (I've had it 5 years now, used it for 3 winters as well).

Good investment, will even dry the car out in @24hrs, had to put the car way one wet October, had condensation in the headlamps, gone the next day!

I've got one too, the outdoor version.

Probably wouldn't reccommend it for only outdoor use though: mine does leak, and tends to stop and then deflate when it's windy as the connections to the fans are easily disturbed. And they don't like ice or snow either.

Inside the garage (where it is used the most) it does works really well though- keeps everything very dry.

I take it these carcoons stop dampness, mould etc from developing inside too, but my question would be, do they help to stop your car from rusting?

Is it worth me getting one once I've rebuilt my nova?

I've an outdoor one, Had the nova in it over winter, Good investment.

I will however agree with Olly that its a pain in high winds and also the snow.

ideally if your going to put it outside id have it under a car port mainly just to shelter it from the elements.

As air is constantly flowing through the bubble it stops moisture resting on the body work and in turn reduses the risk of rusting.

I like the fact the outdoor ones are double skinned, gives that added bit of security that moisture won't seep through

Yes it will. Rust needs air and water: the carcoon prevents moisture by keeping the air moving, and moving air changes temperature less quickly, so condensation does not form.

I bought mine for my 2.8i Capri on which I spent a small fortune having restored 10 years ago. It's kept it as good as the day it was completed for 9 years, but last year was the first year I didn't use it, and microblisters appeared on the very edge of both wings. So they do work!
