c20xe rebuild

bought a red top this weekend from VBOA for £100!! to replace my 2.0 8v that dose pull past standard red tops!! looking to rebuild at a budget all standard internals if poss! apart form cams! a fue questins if people could help?
Q1, if anyone has got an idea of how much it will cost me for parts for rebuild?
Q2, how much do after market cams cost? second hand!!
Q3, do pistons req machining when after market cams fitted (to avoid valves hitting pistons)?
Q4,what bhp could i be looking at with cams and chip/remap?

1. Il send prices of all parts for complete build when get on comp

2. Cams vary, keep eye out on forums, qed do regrinds for 200+vat a pair or maybe try autosprint.

3. Yeah need doing when using cams larger than 264duration.

Cant posible say, maybe 165-175bhp. But genuine not bul**** figurer

I think the standard cam durations 240 or something like that ash.

As for the rebuild id use blands for the parts and get pay or something of similar quality thats what ive used in the past and there good stuff but put some arp rod bolts in whilst your there you may aswell there cheap on ebay at mo too.

Sound been looking on the kent web sight and ther is only 1 cam thay do that will do befor machining and its bang on 264 and have you got num for blandys m8?

Ash try newmann cams website theyve got a few choices i had a look last week there quite cheap too my mates got them in his pug 106 gti him with that yella one.
