I am toying about with a bike carb conversion at the minute. i made a manifold but the take-off for the servo pipe is too far away from the servo for the standard pipe so it needs extending.

But i also need a vacuum for the sliders on the carbs, so will i be able to T-piece this off the servo pipe? If yes which side of the one-way valve would i need to insert the T-piece? Servo or manifold side??

Hope this makes sense.

the bottom hose on my carbs is a vacuum pipe which opens the sliders. i only have one take-off on my manifold which is for the brake servo, so i was hoping to T-piece the servo pipe to get the vacuum for the sliders as well. Would this be possible or cause other problems??

Did you have a vacuum pipe on your carbs Southie?

The little blue pipe on the top pic coming of the manifold is where I had my pipe. In all fairness I left it off though as it ran better without it.

ok, i might just have to do a bit of trial and error to see what works. did your carbs have sliders?

Pass, mine where R1 carbs and where run off a maunal choke on my old 1.4sr.

no the sliders are nearer the intake side. when closed not much air gets through and when i opened one manually it made a pumping sound. they are separate to the choke and butterflys. i was just wondering how they function properly

Tom Reid is your best bet to ask as he's dealt with this conversion more than me. Send him a PM. :)
