Been doing my panel at college for a while now so I thought i'd see what you all think.

Started off by making the frame up, spot welded some corner brackets to hold it together and then mig welded them up.

Then we put the skin through the english wheel to give it a slight curve (I overdid mine and it has a huge curve lol) then a clinch joint holds the skin in place. Our tutor then gives it a big whack with a hammer so we have a dent to fill, then primer and top coat.

We were allowed any design on afterwards, I didnt go with the obvious as it was too awkward but the one I did meant I could do it yellow :d

Anyone that has me on facebook will have already seen it, but for those who haven't

The lettering looks better in the pics as there's a few rough edges to sort, i'm doing vehicle body repairs level 1, should be doing level 2 next year if the bodyshop i'm at can't take me on full time.

Update - Nearly finished my course now, and as all my course work is done we're allowed to bring out own bits in to do :) First I wanted to sort out the steels on my micra, loads of surface rust and one of the rims had a nasty dink in it, so took the tyre off, heated toe rim up and knocked it out.

Alot of people don't like the colour but I do so thats all that matters lol Oh and she's now lowered 35mm as the standard suspension was about ready to collapse!! lol

If you're under 19 at the start of the course, i'm way past that lol so you'll basically have to empty your wallet like I did to get a place lol

Depends on your college tbh and your course will be totally differnt, iirc vaughan started painting stuff straight away but it was about £1300 for the 1st year. 2nd year is part -time if I do it and thats only 1 day a week and about £600. Full time is 3 days a week, half theory, half practical.
