alright, i bought a 400w amp, and i got a amp wiring kit that they advised. It consists of 10gauge power cable etc. I have recently updated my amp to an 800w 4 channeled amp. Will my original amp wiring kit be sufficent to use? im not to sure, some people say yea some people say no,! your opinion plz, chris
10 guage should be ample! i use 10 guage on main feed lift powerpack wiring! its more than enuff!
Som1 correct me if im wrong plz!
Thanx
when it comes to power wire, the thicker the better!! just make sure that if you use a thicker gauge ov wire for the + use atleast thje same size for the earth!!
Ballsy
Work out max current using formula Current = Power / Voltage
Then use this table
400 amps 00 awg
325 amps 0 awg
250 amps 1 awg
200 amps 2 awg
125 amps 4 awg
80 amps 6 awg
50 amps 8 awg
30 amps 10 awg
20 amps 12 awg
15 amps 14 awg
7.5 amps 16 awg
If ur current is in between two values in the table, use the bigger wire (smaller number)
