... any good
Please dont have a go about it being the wrong forum but i value highly peoples opinions on this forum.
Been looking for a project to fix (mess up)
for relatively cheap
Well an old friend from college has asked me if i know
anyone who wants to buy his old mini
it has had a full outer respray, minilites, cobra buckets and
a safety devices cage. This is what it looked like before he took it off the road:

The reason he took it off the road was the engine gave up and had no compression, also to underseal the car (which he has now done)
The car has NO rust on it anymore
Thsi is what it looks like now:

I got offered as a mate for £400 with everything
only thing missing is the bonnet.
I dont really know much about minis and i know this is the wrong forum to ask but
1) do you think it is worth the cash
2)Are they any good (in general from previous experiences etc) (was goin to put a 1280 in it)

Cheers in advance
Let the abuse begin lol

Christ that is cheap!

Mate that is well worth it. The wheels/tyres alone would see near that.
Rust free, cool arches etc. Do it.

if it's got no rust it's worth about a grand... I looked into them as a first car and they're only going up in price!

Showed this to my mate who's quite the authority on Mini's thanks to him being a BL man.

Mark says:
cheap!
Liam says:
hell yeah
is that worth about 2k?
Mark says:
i'd buy it for the whee;ls alone
depend if it had tax and mot really, and if it is actually rust free and hasn't just been tarted up
if it's solid, with a decent engine then probably yeah
buy it!
tell him to snap it up for £400
well worth the risk, even if he has to put it on ebay he'd make more back easy

MK. A boggo City or the like would be over a grand if it's really in the condition described.

Aye that's kinda what I meant, any mini with no rust sees a grand on that alone, i wrote it fairly quick lol

If he's offering it for £400 maybe he was his repeatedly on the head with the bonnet. This would also explain the lack of said bonnet.

bargain, grab it! I have a few minis and they have more than doubled in value in the last 5 years although i would never sell them!
The car is worth at least 2K

It has 'jobs' that need doing,
like brakes all round. Front passenger wheels bearing
and no exhaust maybe no suspension..
And he promised me it is rust free, as he has spent the last year
tackling the stuff, his plans were for a vtec but he has lost interest,
the paintwork is a bit shabby and it has had a few bad repairs on the dents
also the engine that was in it is in bits and probably not all there lol
i thought it was cheap, but then again the reason it is so cheap as it is going to a good mate and a good home :)

cheers for the advice guys reaaaally appreciate this
and i will let you know how it goes on :thumb:

Plus you can always bolt the wheels up to your Nova. Happy days for 400 notes!

Shame mate. Could alternate wheels between the 340 and the Mini then. lol

Dunno if you know, but the 1.7 340 is the one to go for. obvious power benefits plus it's the one you need to convert to Clio 16v power.

Get the Mini and you can have my Lolvo in exchange. lol

It seems a very fair price to my. Just be totally sure that its rot free as rotten minis are a b'stard to fix.
