I have an august 1993 nova expression 1.2i and would appreciate a few bits of advice.
Backgroud of car. It was bought as an MOT failure with only small failings. One was the drivers light was lose, not surprisinly the panel holding the little plastic bit was corroded. I decided that as the car was off the road and my dad is a welder, to leave it with him and ask him to look for any other weak bits and weld them. he has found a few but this means when he is finished the shell will be a good one.
I gather from vauxhalls own figures that the injection car is down on power (though not really torque) and down on economy. This happened to minis in the mid 90s and a cure was to remove the cat between MOTs, does this work for the nova too? Also I notice that the gearbox is close (1.0 final not 1.2 final drive) does this have a huge effect on the consumption?
The car is lowered on a yellow suspension (not sure if it is spax or not) and is on 15" alessio alloys tyres 195/45r, and i think it is corsa brakes. I have already had a guy asking my dad if i would sell the alloys and wonder what they are worth in good condition? Is it better to sell the car with them or flogging the alloys and suspension seperately and putting the car on standard and selling the car on its own when i find an early an early standard nova which is what i really want. I am past the age for alloy etc,.
I would put a pic of the car up for you to look at but dont know how too!!
Anyway thanks for reading and for any responses
