C20xe into C20let

Im currently building a c20xe had the following done

HEAD - 1mm oversize valves, bronze valve guides, solid lifters, 290 degree cams and adj verniers.

BLOCK - Re bore with steel rods, 87mm hi compretion woosner pistons, acl duraglide bearings through out, lightend and balanced crank, lightend and balanced flywheel with helix paddle clutch.

45mm direct to head throttle bodies.

Need to get management.

But the other day I whent for a drive in my mates mk2 astra gte with LET convertion and I was amazed. This has made me re think about my xe throttle body into my nova. How much work is it to convert the xe and is it possible for me to use the head with the cams that I already have in?

easier to swap for a let, thats a good spec engine, id keep it, but thats my opinon, youd need inlet manifold turbo exhaust manifold, different pistons or a spacer plate, etc etc, it would be easier on a standard xe to convert imo

Im very tempted to go turbo rout, I would sell the pistons and get low comp forged 87mm. If I was to turbo it I would like big bhp say a good reliable 350 or even 400 bhp, dont know what mods are needed for this sort of power and cost involved. But I would think most of the cost is coverd already re building the engine.

400 in a nova lol your brave, its all the things that go with 400 brake, management cooling for air water and oil, gearbox issues, driveshafts, brakes, big bhp is good but the cost isnt, ive got a 91 gsi, and a let engine and an xe, but im keeping it 1600, the let is for my track car as its the only place you can really use it, my mates mk2 astra let is good but it can take the power a little better than the little nova :)

Everyday, I only do a round trip of 20 miles to work and as I live 3 miles from Ty Croes Race Trac on Anglesey Il do the odd trac day.

xe on R1 carbs, ive seen brodies motor and the engine looks real nice on them carbs.

How do I add a pole? Or can you add one for me? Surely my xe with 150bhp should give him trouble lol. I just rememberd I have a f20 with quaif lsd, hes got a standerd f20 lol at the mo lol

I think a sensible spec let is great ont he road. For track you need a good boost controller so its not slapping in the boost in one big dollop!

My phase 2 with the f28 was hilarious on the road.

because, apart from the gas used, the actually valvegear & pipework is pretty much the same, and those pipes look rather long

He had it on a ford puma engine in a fiesta, 50bhp shot workd fantastic. I have no idea about noz so if anything looks out of place advice is always welcome.
