you leave mr leg's car out of this lol
cable ties have been used many times.
to hold an auto choke open as it was sticking,
part of the throttle linkage on t40's,
to tension an alternator belt when the bracket brokelol
loads more but too many to list lol
Ive also welded a track rod end onto the cast hub knuckle as the thread fell to bits whilst trying to take it off. Got the bolt half undone an it kept spinning inside the TCA.

The biggest bodge to that car was spending all of that money on the bodykit and interior but leaving the crappy 1 litre engine in there!

Just the coolant was strange so thought that would explain it lol lol
erm..
throttle cable snapping in a mk1 astra on m40, so rigged up choke cable as a hand throttle using a crimp terminal.. also used it as a cruise control
rh engine mount on nova collapsing, used a bit of bale string round the turret as a get me home
wiper linkage failed at 100+ on autobahn near dusseldorf.. managed to use a hammer & nail to burr the socket enough to hold it back on (for 3 years)
after the exhaust tailpipe fell of, and melted a brake line on a scania v8, i used a mole grip to seal the pipe so i could get home.. it even got the approval of a cop

i like the cruise control lol
Probably tying up my power chav valve adjustable regulator out the way with electrical cable to stop my 1.6 running lean, needed a quick fix to get to combe/trax lol
welding a diffrent suspension leg from a focus on to a fiesta.
and pulling a roof and that out by tying it to a lamp post after a tree fell on bwm losts of filler lol

One night I was driving and it was peeing it down and the wiper arm snapped off the little ball joint, so in true Mr Bean style got a piece of elastic from the garage we had gradually got to and then got my mate to pull the elastic to do the wipers lol

fooking the back hub nut, hitting it on with a hammer and firing a nail in it to hold it on lol
building a 2.0 nova, fitting an astra mk2 engine mount without lowering the chassis leg mount. ran it for 6 months....
rear brake pipe leak on my old corsa, clamped the flexi pipe up with molegrips, cable tied the grips to the axle lol

Same as Baxter with the use of a dremel to make a gap so the valves didn't hit the pistons
also using epoxy resin to glue a leaky plastic thermostat housing together on a rover 214 lol
I used garden string to hold my wiper linkage together, never bothered fixing it and sold the car like that lol
i welded a wheel onto a cav gsi as the previous one came off shearing 3 of the 4 nuts in the hub.
i tiger sealed my gear box mount bolts in on a let astra i had after the threads got stripped

my brother had a red mk3 escort 1.3gl with xr3 alloys & a boot spoiler (it was the mid eighties) he was selling it & there was a huge rust bubble on the rear arch. i wire brushed it & dabbed some red smoothrite on. the first viewer brought her brother to inspect it.. he put on his kwikfit overalls & looked at the tyres & exhaust, and pronounced it fit, they paid 2 grand cash & drove it off with wet paint on it!!! and my wife wonders why i won't set foot in a kwikfit

err, well mine are running out of metal and fibreglass to rebuild a rear arch, so used a quality streets tin (if you rubbed off the underseal, you could still see the barcode lol), snapping a split pin for the rear bearing so finding a 1" roofing nail in the garage, sticking it in and putting the cap back over, various cable tie incidents including the rear bench in current nova, screwing a bracket into the spare tyre in my corolla to hold the sub in place(done on purpose :))
the ones i know from my dad are...
volvo sills rotten, so he used skirting board to make "sideskirts" for it, hammerited it and it passed MOT (years gone by)
Morris Minor in france, wiper motor packed up so they used washing line string on each arm, through both windows, and as my dad drove my mum had to pull from side to side to keep the screen clear (the Moggy came off the road in 1982 so shows how long ago that was lol)
