Depends who put your unit together. Thats how far back MS goes, you can assemble the ECU yourself using the instructions or buy from someone or a seller assembling them & making a few bucks in the process. They are a kind of hobby ECU beyond using say Autronic & having a hobby of maybe tweaking the map & undersdtanding the install, MS is really about understanding circuit boards, looms & mapping.
That doesnt stop anyone from buying a good pre-built ECU, sorting there own loom & getting it mapped well.

As CG said it depends how well its made/who did it, who made the loom etc. MS has been used on some mental engines over in the States, without problems.....

Matty_H- M-tech are now doing a MS based version of there own ecu, worth a look, they offer mapping too.
