any half decent motor factors. if its an 8v engine (too too well up on my engine codes) then there is originally a cork gasket, but its a load of crap :)

Cam cover, or cam carrier?

Cam cover uses a cork gasket, use a non setting gasket selant like hylomar or similar.

I meant carrier, not up on the terminology.

Personally I'd use the cork gasket from GM, it has a coating on one side. Brush on a thin layer of high temp gasket sealert (so it doesnt ooze out). I dont like Hylomar personally.

I've used Hylomar under the carrier, its OK, but again, high temp gasket sealer is far better. Toolstation do gun sized tube for less than £3.

Use the proper "green sealant" available from vauxhall.

yeah this is to go between the carrier and the head right, not the carrier and the rocker cover?

Never had a problem with loctite 518 myself.

WWW.loctite.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/SID-0AC8330A-75A34B64/henkel_uke/hs.xsl/3185_UKE_HTML.htm?iname=Loctite%C2%AE+518&countryCode=uke&BU=industrial&parentredDotUID=productfinder&redDotUID=1000000IVH6

Used at work, and strangely on my engine too...
