hello
im looking for some advise on side repeaters.
one thing first of all
are they needed to pass a M.O.T ?
because i have bought new wings and they dont have any hole for them so i thouht id asket and see if they are needed befor i cut holes in my new wings lol
Another thing is
when removing the front wings
is there a way i can get the the side repeaters off without cutting them ?

they unplug from the under dash shelf area and are earthed near by on the chassis. as for the m.o,t some pass and some dont. on a mk2 thr front indators go round the side so some tests deem this as ok but either ask or if it fails put ones on the mirrors as a temp fix.

Strictly speaking MOT wise, you need side repeaters after 1986/7. That is the law, however on a mk2 Nova you can argue the fr indicator wraps around & is visible side-on. If you can blag or wink hard enough, some MOT testers may let this pass. Another option of getting your car through the MOT is to tape them on for the test, then remove.

I cut the wires on mine & fitted bullet connectors for easy removal.

yea mine is a 89 merit so i dont think il get away with it :(
