I know of a set of Peugot 205 GTi Twin Webers still on the manifold i found them while i was raking about when i worked at a scrapyard, im wondering if they could be took off the manifold and put onto a vauxhall one to work on a 8 valve engine.

If not would they be worth much, i could just buy them and sell them on ?

lol, Will they fit or what, i bet these are worth a hundred quid or something.

Theyve been lying there since a 205 gti was broken in the scrapyard, and sat in the "carb room" since the 90s

Get them - Get a manifold to suit the engine you plan to put them on and have them re-jetted to suit the engine...?

Yes they would work with the correct manifold for the engine, all though they would obviously need setting up on a rolling road/dyno to be perfect.

Thats what i was thinking, but i dont know if carbs from a peugot will fit the vauxhall manifold, thats why im asking.

I dont know if all webers are just webers and can be bolted to any manifold ?

i'm guessing they are actually off an old 205 xs 1.4, so they are most likely downdrafts, which means they would be rather hard to fit to a nova....

usual rules apply.... pics of gtfo

Might call down tomorow morning and give him his 20 quid then lol

EDIT:

Ill take a photo tomorow then, we can see if they will fit or not

EDIT AGAIN:

Mowgli, i remember everything is labeled what they came off and this had written on 205 GTi !!!

Aye mate there a general modification lol - It's 205 GTi for a reason lol

Carb/Injection is different

Get a Vx manifold for them and you should be sorted :) Re-jetted as well

They should fit an alternative manifold no problem, bolt pattern will be standard to the body size e.g. 40DCOE body, 45, etc

If you fitting them to some other vehicle you will need to find out choke sizes and jets, emulsion tube sizes fitted, so that you can compare them to what you'd need for the engine they re going on.

They will need to be sized to suit the engine capacity/build spec.

There is a website with this listed, and you can quite easily work out what you'd need to set them up correctly choke/jets/emulsion tubes, etc.

Note that 40's can be set up to run on engine sizes from @1.3 up to 2.0 (be pushing it for a high spec 2.0)
