some lad i know has just picked up a astra gte with a xe in thats apparently 190bhp
he really does believe this and recons its had £4k spent under the bonnet :tard::roll:
just wanted anyone with or near 190bhp to put pics of engine and details so i can show him and laugh at him :thumb:
if it had 4k spent under the bonnet it could easily have 190bhp

basically it'll be turbo'd or on throttle bodies - quite obvious to see really.
well, cams & a head job & remap would be way less than 4k, but the engine could have had a full rebuild & easily cost that

my old xe was 196bhp 2.0 xe played with head qed cams verniers weber 48 dcosp carbs sbd inlet and exhaust manifolds full 2.5in exhaust

how can you see 190bhp if its mostly internal work? or does he have the 40bhp Ripspeed sticker and Maxpower cone filter

probably 190bhp not meassured at the rollers but measured at the spark plugs hehehe.

mines 183bhp possibly more or less lol running bike carbs and a 2.25 stainless

Personally given the choice, I'd have a std (engine) & uptogether body, suspension & brakes on a mk2 valver. I've had 2, amazing cars in std trim save for the weenie tyres & sloppy handling. Address these 2 issues & its a blinding car anyway. The engine feels plenty quick due to the fact the chassis has great traction. Filters & other bolt on crap dont do anything for the Motronic'd Xe anyway. Std(ish) FTW.
My mate has a 450bhp XE mk3 van, well, not much standard XE left on it TBH apart from the block :lol::lol::lol:
P.S, this only cost him £1250 for the motor! lol
