Right as a few of you know I have a C25XE in my Nova, It has been modified quite a bit but I want to know how to get some more power.

Currently it has
C25XE with C30XE cams
Chipped ecu
V6 Brakes all round, 5 stud conversion,
Parelli P-Zero tyres
Gaz coilovers all round
etc etc lol

I'm getting an LSD fitted and a 6 speed box possibly NOS but what are my other options.

I want to keep it Fwd

I know you can Supercharge these engines but space is tight as it is lol

Will stand alone engine management increase my BHP?

Any suggestions from the guru's is welcomed

I had a look using the search bar but couldn't find much

never happy lol.

i doubt stand alone managment would increase BHP, just make it smoother in the rev ranges i think.

i would say if you want more, sell it, and buy something bigger

i think standalone can make quite a difference, itll bin alsorts of vauxhall senders/sensors and management thats not primarily designed for performance and it'll be replaced by something that is designed for performance.. you cant get a propper re-map done then.

f tou dont mind a hole in your bonnet throttlebodies or bike carbs or a remot turbo at the back due to limited space

Theres some pics of a white mk1 somewhere with a turbo'd v6. The turbo sits down kind of above the gearbox.

Yeah it has the fly and the leads. What are good engine management systems then? My brother had a supercharged rover 216gti (honda engine) and it ran a Zydane ecu...thinks that the correct spelling lol. there is some space above the gearbox but thats about it lol.

Management wise, Omex 600, Alpha 710, or Megasquirt. :)

I would love that if I could fit it in lol

How much are chargers anyway?

Probably £3k - but space and moreso heat will be your enemy! That white GTE with a V6 and a turbo went very well and it was only running a few psi - as they suffer from heat/melting on cyl 3 under boost iirc....

If you want more power reliably, a LET is the sensible option tbh

just put a 2nd engine in the back.

I had considered that. Another V6 would be nice lol

How about a 3.0 block with your current top end? That'll also allow you to fit C20LET pistons (I think) for when you decide to fit a big swirly thing in the intake.

The other option would be a low pressure remote turbocharger.

If you're looking for willy waving contest (i.e. chasing bhp numbers), remote turbo would be my choice. Supercharger would be nice, but the V6 suffers from bad cooling anyway let alone when its in a Nova and again let alone having a hot charge blown into it.

However, if you want to actually drive it and for it to be fast on the road, an LSD or something to use the power would be a must. My 3.0 only has 210bhp but you can't really use that until you're in 3rd and over 50mph otherwise it just spins up.

I totaly agree mate. Mines spins in 1st,2nd and sometimes in third. It's usless until your on a straight in the dry lol. A remote turbo sounds interesting if you could turn it on and off when needed i.e on the drag strip but still have sort of tame for day to day use.

Whats this talk of LET pistons if I use a 3.0 bottom end? I thought the LET was a 2.0?

yes it is but its a 2.0 4 cyl, same bore x stroke as the v6 though IIRC and its a 6 cyl, both 500cc per cyl(before all the geeks start its actually more like 499.5 but you get the idea). personally i'd be looking at getting custom exhaust manifolds made up as the standard ones look restrictive as feck, bound to free up a lot of bhp and throttle response.

LET has a 1mm longer stroke (86 to 85mm). Bore is the same though (86mm); compression on the LET is 10.8:1 where as 3.0V6 is 9.0:1. LET is 499.5cc/cyl, 3.0V6 is 493.67

There's some numbers to munch on

with a remote turbo you cant turn it off its called that because its located were the backbox would be
