View Full Version : Can an AFM run upsidedown?

As title really, is it OK to run the AFM on a C20XE as in the pic below? Will it function correctly and not break it? I don't really know how an AFM works but there looked like some delicate gubbins inside it that I don't want to cock up lol
I would like to fit my strut brace in the same way.

Surely if the AFM is upside down then the air will enter the inlet upside down and would meen the car wouldnt perform as well?

XE is a hot wire type btw...

XE is a hot wire type btw...possibly but then there is audi's i think that run them on what we would class there side. but of course they may have the spring tension set to be run like that

Think that would be a suck it and see kind of thing mate! try it and if the car runs like sack of cack then flap types can't be turned!

Air flow meter must of been fitted upside down there? The ECU would of told the car to do that so be careful it doesnt happen again
