Just been putting a striplight in me garage. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Rather than there being one wire, there were three all going to the old light, and these split into three live, three neutral and one earthing lead. The inputs on the ligth were labelled things like flux and loop (!).

Anyway on the new one, i basically twisted the three red bits together and then connected it to the brown wire (live), did the same for the black wires and connected it to the blue wire (neutral) and connected the earth in the middle where required.
It worked, although when you tried to turn it off at the wall it stayed on! Tried the bulb both ways around but nothing changed, so then i tried checking to make sure the wires weren't touching inside and seperating them further apart - rapping the three in the same colour tighter together in the process. This made no difference when the switch was on, but as soon as i turned it off it blew all the lights in the house! I've disconnected it now and given up the for night.
These are the connectors on the striplight!

What the fuck is going on? Is this type of wiring common?
Thanks lads,
Joe
