ok - brentnall brothers 1.3 SR here. we want to spray the bumpers white to match the body. do you reckon we can do this by just taking them off and spraying on some halfords paint ? ? ?
if not what do you think is best to do? loads of primer? whats the cheapest way to do this?
cheers

Sand the bobbly effect off to give a smooth look and get a good key. Wash them. Spay with primer. Then a very light rub down with wet and dry 1200. Then sray white with halfords paint if you wish. even two coats!

Thats probably the cheapest but still not shoddy way to do it.

your gonna use a lot of spray cans if you want to get a decent finnish on it.

you could use propper 2K paint but you would need thinners and activator plus the use of a spray gun. If your really feeling fancy you could laquer it.

I suggest you read prev posts ref bumper spraying.

Front bumpers need lots of prep coz of stone ships (lacquer will protect to a degree).

DO NOT USE 2 PAK unless you have the correct equipment - its cyanide based and WILL kill you (need a fresh air respirator)

You can use cans - for fronts in white (easiest colour to spray) (after youve flatted and plastic primered the bumper properly) you'll prob use about 5-6 cans of paint then same ijn lacquer.

I strongly recommend you do it properly though - maybe even get body shop to do it - otherwise slight ding in a car park (some crap parking by someone else) and they clip a corner and it will flake worse than a radioactive fallout victim!

orrrrr......you could buy 30 cans of white paint and paint it that many times that u build it up over the bobbley effect on the bumper. oooorrrrr maybe not
