I have a 99 (T) Vectra GSi Saloon, there has been a slight knocking coming from the rear end of it recently whenever I go over a bump. It' finally annoyed me enough and I want to fix it, but have no idea what it is?
Shocks are ok I think, maybe a drop link (if they have them) any other ideas what it could be? Bush maybe?

I havent noticed any uneven tyre wear and has been doing it for a few thousand miles.

The rubber anti-roll bar bushes if you take off the back wheel you will see them they look like nova front anti-roll bar bushes they wear oval causing the knocking sound.

so, get the wheel off, and give it a good shake, and watch for anything moving?

You will need a pry-bar to check for play properly....

Unless its really feacked, it wont move very much by wobbling it with your hands...

Will be rear drop links/bushes VERY common.

Rear hub carrier bushes, 2 per side. top and bottom where the arms bolt to the hub carrier. Always a mare on veccys!

check the anti roll bar bushes with the weight of the car still on the ground/on a ramp. just shake the anti roll bar up and down and you will see play. easy to change.

rear rose bushes- jack the car up and place a pry bar/big screw driver under the wheel and lift up, might feel some play in them if they've gone. to change those you will need a special tool which are cheapish, or you can make your own aslong as you can see what you need to make it out of.
