How much money you have? It will drain a fair bit im sure....
Get part of a local motor club and talk to others, im sure some of them will be in the rally scene.:thumb:

Get yourself along to your nearest motor club (see MSA website for details) and chat to the locals. They'll steer you in the right direction and chat you through what and what not to spend your money on.

If you're using a Nova to compete in, feel free to drop me an email with any questions - we've been rallying them for a long time.

The best advice I had was to just get out and do it! Join you local motor club. Find it on the msa site, or most are on the "britishrally.co.UK" website.

You'll have to sit your rally license matey, you can download the info from the MSA website, once you have completed this it will allow you to compete in national B events, which are clubman type rally's :thumb:

Also your navigator may have to sit this test too if he or she ever wishes to have a go at driving but if they don't they can apply for a non race national B license for £35.

As to the car in question the world is your oyster so to speak, i would say though the main thing to do is to fit a good differential, you can have all the power in the world but if you can't get traction its a waste of time.

Also the car for 2010 will have to have either plastic/perspex/polycarb windows or if you are using the standard glass it has to have a security film on the inside to stop it shattering, mud flaps must be fitted to all of the corners, the harness's you use also have to have a valid date attached to them, fire extinguishers, kill switch's, nice strong rollcage just in case lol there's more but i won't carry on lol

Like the others have said if you get stuck or need help with anything ask away:thumb:

Actually to add to the advice above, I would try a bit of road rallying first, it costs less, a standard car can be used and you can get used to the format as a lot of things transfer over, like parts of the navigation and timing. I know you are wanting to be driving, but an understanding of the navigation can be the difference in winning a class or dropping places.

For road rallying you don't need to take the BARS course(the test mentioned above) just to have the Nat b license for £35. Your Local club will also do things called 12 cars, which are condensed versions of road rallys, these are a great way to see if you really want to progress, as normally all you need is to join your local club.

I know this is all confusing, even more so if you read the post above, but if you join a club it will all make sense.

How is my post confusing!!!!!!!!!?

I'm telling him what he would need to do, its not rocket science and you can have a rally car built and msa log booked for under a grand if you really wanted!!

No worries! Not from around the west London area. I can however recommend you do the "preston road rally" its in Essex and is run by the chelmsford mc. It's a cracking event and not too far away from you.

Try here to find a local club.
