is it a company van? iirc some companys have them restricted to a certain speed for insurance purposes so be carfull lol

Don't forget that you can only do 60 in one of them unless you're on a motorway anyway, legally. One of the lads at work got a ticket recently for doing 70 on a national limit dual carriageway in a similar van.

In my mates Connect he just pulled a fuse out of the fuse box and it was back to normal, not sure which one it was though

Just get yourself an second hand ECU via ebay or transit owners club (yes, there are such things lol)

if so then yes its electronically limited, no sensor bodging/fuse pulling will work as it then defaults to assuming you are in top gear and limits on that (so you could be limited far far lower till you get into top lol)

A recalibration (remap to you lot) will do it. But it is detectable at service/diagnostic checks so will be reset to what the VIN tallys to.

Even when I worked on them, there is no way to make that bit invisible to diag kit unless there is a software change (and there is no way in hell anyone will have access to do that). Just about everything else can be changed and made to look 'legit' with ease though lol

Yeah, its been a commercial/goods vehicle from when the designer first put pen to paper. On Fiesta/Corsa vans, provided the max weight is less than two tonnes, normal rules apply.

A. There is one (small) group of vans which have the same speed limits are cars by virtue of the definitions in Schedule 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984. These are vans that are both derived from a car chassis and also have a maximum laden weight of no more than 2 tonnes. This means that the weight of the vehicle and the payload it is designed to be able to carry when added together do not exceed 2 tonnes. The van design must be a derivative of a car body, it is not sufficient that it looks similar to a particular car.

i had to do a national rail connect the other day i removed the software that limited it to 65 and upped it to 70!

Thanks for all your replys after a 300 mile trip today ive started to get used to it find i can do other things like text on my phone wile driving better eat by big mac with out swerving around so sod it i will live with for now still can use the same amount of fuel as it hits the limiter in 4th so dont need 5th any more so if any one wants a 5th gear i have one spear lol
