sad to say..

Earlier today, some yuppie on a mobile rear ended me and i now belive my car is a write off :(

looking at the outside you'd think theres no damage
but the bumper is pressed hard against the body and now sits at a horrid angle

(when you open the boot the gap the bumper has between it and the bodywork is NON existant )
and there is a slight crumple in the boot

everyone ive talked to sez that the cars too old to be fixed by the insurance

i dont feel safe in little cars any more... had 2 crashes in 2 little cars in 4 mths...

i need somthing bigger... like a vectra or a caviler..

so... here goes another whiplash claim

Sorry to hear about your crash.

You'd have to check your policy about a courtesy car. I doubt you'd get a choice either.

if he weas on his mobile when he hit you then you need to tell the police as they will prosecute for dangerous driving!

Theres a new law coming out where you can actually go to jail for using a mobile and driving dangerously where injury is incurred.

Hows the whiplash???

Hopefully your chassis aint buckled. If theres a kink in the boot, check for ripples in the roof and also side panels.

Also - do the rear wheels look out of place within the arches (ie too close to the front/back etc)

as mike said i had the same, old lady went into back left of my car from behind. car was a fixible write off, I got ?1200 for car and had to pay ?185 to keep the car. i claimed for a hurt coxsit and got ?1500 9 months later, and thats with me keeping on at her solicitors through mine.

As ade said, DEFFINATELY tell your insurance company that he was on the phone, even if he does denigh it it might count for something, you wont lose out on anything!

the main thing that annoyed me was the waiting, thats all it is, a waiting game.

And i beleive your whiplash is bad, isn't it

good luck with it all.

sorry to hear bout your car mate
same thing sort of happened to mine old dumbarse ran into the side of me, said i was indicating right which i wasnt i was going straight ahead,
took over 7 months to sort out first the insurance said they would give 1075 minus 75 for cars scrap value and i get to keep the car, :(
I told them were to go and they came back wiv 1775 which was more like it :D
I would of got a curtosy car but my car was still drivable but if i had got one and had an accident in itkit would have been ?700 :o
i got a curtosy car whille mine was in the bodyshop for 2 weeks though
but i had to have the curtosy car on my own insurance policy as the bodyshop couldnt insure me
that was without any injury claims this was only last december though so wanst that long ago

Unlucky mate

As with My nova: back left is totally messed..the chasis will need to be pulled out..so will be a write off...Trouble with my insurance is its TPFT cause i couldnt afford FC with a prov license..so i had to claim off her insurance company, they will assess it..and then get back to me on how much they will give me..i get to keep the car, but no courtesy car given as im only TPFT...

Definately tell the ins company about the Mobile fone tho..

If/When you get a courtesy car make sure you read the small print before you sign.

My sister had an Astra, scratched it slightly, ended up paying (?200) becasue she didn't read the paper she signed.
