wiper mechanism spindle

My wiper mechanism has packed up (have to use the spare). I have had this same issue with 3 novas. The bit between the passenger and drivers spindle falls off at the passenger spindle. Although it seems as though the plastic cup in the rod is what wears, it is not, it is actually the metal ball shape on the spindle which wears into a rough shape. This spindle is not available on its own and has to be bought with the complete mechanism.

Anyway, vauxhall want £70 for this and I wonder if anyone knows where it can be bought for cheaper?

have you tried local scrap yards,motor factors or ask in the wanted section m8
