water injection is typically used when proper intercooling isnt available, ie bit of a bodge. It does a nice job of steam cleaning your pistons & combustion chambers however. A well setup & intercooled/charge cooled engine shouldnt need it, esp in our lousy climate.
Using water injection on a Vectra Turbo brought the ACT's down about 70deg c , the ambient air temperature was 27degrees or so a few lower than what the new ACT was. That increased power from 330bhp to approx 365bhp, and it was physically noticeable. Its worth every penny IMO.
I want to do it on mine, I will put the jet in on the hot side of the IC.

I have an ERL kit sat in the garage, I actually intended to fit it to mine,m mainly as its not on dedicated management to cope with boost. But with a smallish CC I guess it would compliment it & it does as you say lower the inlet temps nicely, which is all good.
I think this is to avoid an intercooler/stealthy fr end isnt it?

Could be tempted, its missing a map sensor which is about 26quid from ERL iirc.
