View Full Version : A13 SPT - Please Help Nova Sport!!

Hi There, I have purchased a Vauxhall Nova Sport. The registration Plate is A 13 SPT .

I know this vehicle has been owned by a company called Jason Lepley Motorsport at some period in its life (I have had contact with them) . I also know that it has lived in North Wales and Derby At some Point in its life. Before being purchased by a friend of mines father in Gloucestershire. I have purchased it off of him.

I intend to fully rebuild the car and make it back to its showroom former glory. Its 99% rust free and for a 1985 vehicle its very tidy.
Although it is in full rally spec, including 6 point roll cage, buckets, fuel and brake lines inside, rally steering rack, disc beam conversion, hydaulic handbrake etc etc

It currently has NO engine and i am looking for a 13N engine to fit into the car.

I would love to know any details you may have about this vehicle no matter how small. I am a purist Vauxhall man having had cavalier/calibra turbos, many novas, corsas, astras, chevettes, mantas etc .... and to me the history of this vehicle is almost as important as the vehicle itself.

Also how may i find out which number my vehicle is out of the production run,

Also can anybody give me details of Nova Sports Generally to improve my knowledge on them.

There is thread in Sportzone about the car.

Hi Connor i did ask bub if he knew anything about her as were friends from a cav forum. Just hoping that more people may come to my aid in finding out this little cars history. At some point i add my own pictures of how it stands now.

Is anybody on the forum that attended that show date with all of those sports, would love to find out who owned it then and if theres any more pics like that?

Rich, (Novasport) took the pics, Billing 2000 i think, i expect he will be online tonight so probably be able to tell you some more.

That line up is from the PNG national weekend 2000 when it was held at Billing aquadrome. Not the 'Billing' VBOA show.

1300 sr engine iirc,
then you need to find the twin webber sport carbs
have a browse in the sport section now your a member
as they know there stuff about sports :d

13SB is the same engine as the 1.3 SR.

13 is the engine capacity
S is compression ratio of 9.5 to 10:1
N is IBC

I'm not sure what IBC is, Idle something control? relating to the idle control thingy mounted on the innet wing?

The 13N is a 9 to 9.5:1, possibly fitted the the mk1 Astras etc?

Was my friends car, he still comes on here occasionally. His user ID is RallyCraig on here.
Think he sold it about 2002 and he originally bought it from Jason Lepley Motorsport. The previous owner was a Paul Weller(No, not that one) that prepped it for hill climb or clubman rallying, can't remember exactly.
It had the plate on it when he bought it aswell and he restored it around 2000. There was 5 of us had Sports in Derby around that time, thats when I got into them.
It was sold on and used for rallying, not sure how many owners its had since, poss 1 or 2. Last time I saw it was for sale on Ebay and it was looking a little tired.

This was once my car for four years. i still have the matching sport twin 40's, irmscher inlet and airbox for it, They were hopeless as motorsport items.
