check everywhere for rot other than that good choice of car mate
Make sure the top of the dashboard (where the de-misters are) has the least amount of cracks as possible! There prone for cracking/splitting an its VERY hard to get your hands on a dash that isnt FUBAR.
Where the rear spoiler mounts likes to rot, under the arch flairs & skirts. And then the same places as Nova's really.
Yeh this ones split to fook! But it is a cheap one, its not the one for £19,995 on the bay Lol!
Ive always like mk4's and mk3's, had 2 90 spec xr3i's, one not so cleaver, and one i near enough fully restored, wish i never got rid of it :(
Im not too fussed when it comes to bodywork on any car, its when its rotton to shag that puts me off. Got 10 months MOT though :)
Buyer beware tho, it might not be a genuine S1. Highly likely its a kitted up C reg XR3 shell.

maybe worth using a magnet wrapped in a cloth to check for filler, a friend of a friend once bought a S2 RST and when he took it off the road for a re-spray and minor repairs he found that half the rear quarter was filler
Not a bad idea.
I must be honest...............Its a reshelled series 1 :(
But its sub £1500

Is it on a Q reg & in Stratford Upon Avon by any chance? If it is, i know who owns it, an it really is a genuine sale.

No i think i know the one your on about though. This ones local to me mate
I went to see it this afternoon....
Needs a little money spending on it, and its not actually wearing the genuine kit, the genuine kit comes with it.
However it ran very well (as far as cvh's go!)
Obviously had some money spent on it, and is everything im looking for really, nice little project. I would of bought it today, but id like to get rid of my current car, so that i dont take any money from our house deposit :(

Any pics of it? Love S1's

Its nowhere near as tidy as it looks in the pics! Needs quite a bit of cosmetic attention, but lucky for me, i get it pretty cheap.
Only really want it as a cheap project/runnaround

The pics with out the Sapphire wheels, the car seems to be more 'finished' if that makes sense.
Yeh, it comes with genuine original wheels. Also an RS1600i interior at my cost.
I havnt had a chance to drive it yet, but will soon :)

The arch kit seem more complete, the ar5e end looks finished, could be wrong.

looks good, I remember a mate of mine having a replica, if you parked a real one side by side you couldnt tell the differnce, even had the correct tint screan etc etc perfect replica, think he may even still have it in his parents barn
Looks quite good, shame its a replica but for the cash you would be lucky to get a rotten genuine series 1
Hopefully it's a good, genuine car mate! Like others in this thread I love these things - not as much as an RS1600i mind! - When I seen the title I read it as 1 Series and thought you were after a BMW. lol

I would love an original, clean S1 but not sure i would be able to look after it well enough. Beautiful cars and one of the only things that would make me stray from Novas

why is under the bonnet not white?
why do the front seats look different in some pics to others? have they been re trimmed and some pics are older than others?
EDIT
ebay title clearly states replica, so its not really cheap is it
looking at it, i wouldnt mind something like that myself to tat about with...
