That's very good. Whats the engine though? I get on steady drives of £20 of v-power in my 1.6 16v 160miles lol
£14 LPG = ~23 litres, 5 gallons, 45.4mpg. Thats pretty good, what engine?
As an aside, did you know that a car has to be MOT'd on the fuel it arrives on? So you can get around emissions laws that way :d

if he used his LPG to get to the mot then for the emissions part they have to test it running on LPG not petrol, if that makes sense
Fair play!
LPG Nova V6.....what a good idea.....

not a bad idea mike
wonder weather or not jack would do it to his?
Seriously considering it, although the cost of installation puts me off.
I did toy with the idea of it on the Celica as LPG works very well on Turbo engines. But mehh.
any pics of tank de-slotted
iv seen some go on ebay cheap

I'm pretty sure I saw your car for sale a while back. I bought it from Durham about 4mths back.Went up on train & drove it back on one full tank of GAS (LPG):d
Ran some calculations today and it would take 4 years for the conversion to just break even. By that time I'll have crashed/broken/burnt/destroyed the Nova. Or put a V8 in it lol

i have a kit fot the vectra not fitted yet but is very simple single point kit, just need a new mixer as the kit was fitted to an omega and the inlet is different.
also lpg is perfect for high performance engines and should actualy increase power if set up correctly as lpg has an octain ratio of 110 ron were as the best petrol you can get is 98ron
anthony jordans team are considering running there vectra on it this year in the btcc too
ive been contemplating it for my vectra aswell, since im doing some serious mileage nowdays i reckon it would be worthwhile

I have run my Range Rover on LPG for @ five years, @ 55k miles and has more than paid for itself as she only does @15mpg on a run:eek: and worse round the doors:roll: .
I fitted the sequential injection myself and then got it certified. Fairly striaght forward to convert
Guy I used to work with had a turbo'd Saab on LPG, it worked well until one night he was booting the a*se out of it and melted a piston.
Just need to be sure it is set up correctly, also note that unlike pinking on a petrol car which can be audible in worst cases, LPG isn't!, hence the metled piston mentioned above;)

damper yours is only a 2.0 isnt it if so keep an eye out in the scrapers vauxhall fitted lpg as standard to some 2.0s so get the full set up for next to fec all, i only paid £150 for my system and new mixer is £19 on gaybay so when its done and im working again ill have the money back in a month

LPG has a lower calorific energy than petrol, so you will always get more power out of petrol. The only advantage of the higher RON is you can adjust the timing which is handy for turbo engines.

ah i see i saw an article once in ppc that recond on lpg you could run higher compresion on a turbo car too they had a renault 5 gt turbo featuresd that was running an na bottom end with good results but was never sure it could be safe

I've had my vectra 6 years now - had a single point kit installed already when I bought - have done 70k since purchase and get about 230 miles on 40 litres which is about 26 mpg on an XE not sparing the horses!
Runs a lot smoother on gas than petrol plus the LPG garage is 500 yards down the road from my house.
Its just a shame that in 2004 when I got the vectra it was 29.9 p per litre - its now 61.9p per litre - more than double in 6 years! I wish my wages had doubled in 6 years - haven't had a pay rise for 3 !
