You probably already know that Novas came with 4 flavours of radiators (five if you include the minor differences on the two derv rads), but I bet you thought that the 1.6 had the biggest whilst the 1.2-1.4 had the medium and 1.0 the smallest.

Well not quite. Here's diagrams, sizes and part numbers for the Nova radiator range, including what engine they were fitted to.

Note that I've added the derv radiators for comparison. As you can see by the size and mounts, these won't fit a petrol chassis.

diesel rads do fit a petrol nova, only when running a c20.. you have to keep an eye on the engine mount, some clear them, and some dont.
so it needs a small mod, but they do fit.

ah so my 1.2 rad is the same as a gsi one? as it has the T.C nearer the bottom?

If its an early 1.2, yes. Later 1.2s had a different (smaller) rad. Easiest way to check is see if it has stilts on the bottom and position of the TC (bigger ones had them in the middle, smaller ones had them closer to the bottom)

Has anyone successfully run a TD rad in a petrol engine setup? i tried with my 20SEH but the inlet and outlet of the TD rad were back to front. It had pipework on it to adapt it, but it still never worked aswell as a normal GSI rad.

Mines a 1985 12ST. Would this be a early 12ST? If so, then I won't need a rad as it's the same size as a 1.6.
