View Full Version : does the cold weather effect a starter motor?

my car wont start again. i turn the key and it just clicks.

Check voltage of battery with a multi meter.

If could then the stater motor is "sticking" a sharp blow with a hammer might sort it out or a new one is going to have to be ordered :(

once it starts if it was the battery check the voltage again with it charging should be around 14volts iirc

HOWEVER

9/10 the 14 volts is correct but sometimes the battery keeps on going flat you find! Then you need to check the amps that are going into the battery and you will have to use a amp clamp :) (not a lot of people know this :) )

Could be that the engine has frozen up and water pump has seized!!
