do twin 40s work well on the 1200's?

ive had a couple of 1,4s and a 1.3, ive just bought a k-reg nova cheap as chips and have a set of 40's and a piper cam laying around.

anyone know what it'd be like? or am i better off sourcing a 1400?:thumb:

depending on the year of the car, it will kill the cat,

theres a problem allready,

you would need to fit a pre cat engine, the prove to an mot'r that it is one lol

not at all. its not a legal requirement to have a CAT, as long as it passes it passes!!

as for potential gains no one could possibly tell you, theres that many variables people could only guess. if youve got them sittting there why no lob them on

i have a 1.2 running twin 40's at the minute and i'm getting aboud 90bhp out of it (91.4bhp at the fly 2 years ago, but has got a bigger head on it now and different cam so needs resetting up) so yea they do work well, id recommend getting an early engine though as they have a better head design for the inlet manifolds for the 40's

Im interested in the same thing. looking at some R6 carbs, iv heard i can cut the inlet manifold up and connect them up with some silicone hoses. Anyone know if this is advisable?
Cheers

OllieKing I've cut an inlet manifold up to make it usable as a template for a bike carbs manifold I'm making. It would be pretty difficult and not ideal to do it with hoses on a cut manifold, but not impossible. I would recommend atleast fabbing a tubular steel jobbie up though, would work better.
